Faaborg Rehab Technic or just FRT was founded in 1984 by Niels Erik Johansen with electronics and service as the main focus for a wide range of customers  including the Rehab sector and products ranging from wheelchairs to beds and patient lifts.

The spring of 1985 saw the first electric mobile lifter and in November 1988, FRT started serial production of the Faaborg lift with parallel leg spreading. This has since expanded to a wide product range of Mobility Aids. Three types of mobile lifters can be configured to over 15 applications with lifting capacities ranging from 95 kg up to 350 kg including more than 35 different lifting slings with sizes from XSmall til XXXlarge. In Marts 2012 FRT took over production of the BOMI wheelchair range and also took on a bicycle dealership.

All product development and manufacturing is carried out in a close dialogue with client groups – organisations where the main design focus is stability – simple and functional operation – easy service and a long lifetime.

All the products are thoroughly tested by external test institutes (HMI og Tüv) and CE-marked according to relevant and current standards.

The founder of the company has, over the years, taken part in the working party for the international standard for Medical Equipment as regards lifters.

Between 75 – 85 % of our production is exported to Scandinavia / Europe – USA / Canada – Asia / Australia and the Middle East and an equally important part of the company is our home market where we have a direct sales organisation and a network of dealers for specific product areas.

A very extensive weigh scale / height measurement programmme has, since 2007, been developed and distributed exclusively in Scandinavia and the European Union.
